We have gotten some rain recently. Gardens are making lines of green on the landscape. The lilies have bloomed – one of the signs of spring. The flamboyant trees are becoming red which is a sign that dry season has ended. Carriacou is a beautiful place to live. Even in the dry season there is beauty. The trees are brown and often leafless. The grass will be dead leaving bare dirt, but mango tress have spots of yellow with ripening mangoes.
God has put unique beauty in every part of the earth. The order seen in the cycle of day and night,and the seasons of the year also reflect this beauty.
The key to this beauty is God!
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
The heavens are telling of the glory of God;
And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
It is God. . . Who commands the sun not to shine,
And sets a seal upon the stars;
Who alone stretches out the heavens
And tramples down the waves of the sea;
Who makes the Bear, Orion and the Pleiades,
And the chambers of the south;
Who does great things, unfathomable,
And wondrous works without number.
Job 9:5, 7-10
He stretches out the north over empty space
And hangs the earth on nothing.
He wraps up the waters in His clouds,
And the cloud does not burst under them.
He obscures the face of the full moon
And spreads His cloud over it.
He has inscribed a circle on the surface of the waters
At the boundary of light and darkness.
He sends forth springs in the valleys;
They flow between the mountains;
He causes the grass to grow for the cattle,
And vegetation for the labor of man,
O Lord, how many are Your works!
In wisdom You have made them all;
