R for Redeemer

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel,
“I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit,
Who leads you in the way you should go.
“If only you had paid attention to My commandments!
Then your well-being would have been like a river,
And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
Isaiah 48:16-17

As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives,
And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.
Job 19:15

But when the fullness of the time came,God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,
so that He might redeem those who were under the Law,
that we might receive the adoption as sons.
Because you are sons, God has sent forth
the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son;
and if a son, then an heir through God.
Galatians 4:4-7

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires
and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory
of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,
who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed,
and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession,
zealous for good deeds.
Titus 2:11-14

knowing that you were not redeemed
with perishable things like silver or gold
from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers,
but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.
For He was foreknown before the foundation of the world,
but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you
who through Him are believers in God,
who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory,
so that your faith and hope are in God.
I Peter 1:18-21

Redeem means to buy back.  Jesus is the Redeemer, because He died on the cross to pay the penalty of our sin.  He is sinless so His death was not for Himself but for us.

In Him we have redemption through His blood,
the forgiveness of our trespasses,
according to the riches of His grace

Ephesians 1:7
