The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true;
they are righteous altogether.
They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.. . .
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.
Psalm 19:7-10, 14
God’s Word is just what a person needs to have his life straightened out.
Using God’s Word can make the simple wise. We can have confidence in His Word because it is sure. God’s instructions are right and by following them we will have cause to rejoice. The authoritative nature of the Lord will help our understanding to be increased. The reverential trust in God brings a cleanness to our soul. God is pure.
God’s decisions are right and righteous. We should follow them because they are better than all the wealth the earth has to offer.
Our thoughts and words need to follow God’s standards, not our own standard or the custom of the times or the people around us. Meditation is thinking with the end in view or thinking with purpose scripturally. Our aim should be worship towards God, fellowship with God, and obey Him.
