Genesis and Exodus

Genesis means beginning. As you read notice all the things that God is starting in this book. Pay attention to the people. Make notes of the person’s character demonstrated by his actions. Notice the person’s response to God and God’s response to that person. The main people in this book are Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph.

Exodus is about the Israelites leaving Egypt. The main person in the book is Moses. Pay close attention to this man and how he served God. Starting in Chapter 20 mark the word holy. It is good to be reminded about God’s holiness and to notice what He called holy.

In the Old Testament mark the words “the LORD.”  Marking these words helps you to see what God said and did.
